Bought to pull bearings off of differential carriers. Works like designed, now it resides in my service truck for mobile repairsA must for every mechanic.Used this bearing splitter set to replace bearings on an electric motor. If you use the splitter side, it will literally split the old bearing right off the shaft. If you use the back (flat) side, it'll let you pull a bearing off without damaging it. The really nice thing is you can use the flat side in conjunction with a shop press to press new bearings into the shaft. If you're working on bearings, this is the one to get!I use this for removing pulleys, and it works great.I was very pleased with this product. All the parts and pieces of this kit fit well together. I pulled bearings off of a starter/generator for a golf cart. This hardly strained the puller, but it did what I needed. If I was still employed in the HVAC service industry, I have no doubt this kit would have worked for any of the household and light industrial applications I would have come across, with no problem. This will certainly fail if it is over loaded. I'm glad I bought this as I was uncertain after reading some of the negative reviews. But I've always been one to take negative reviews with a grain of salt, and besides, Amazon has been great on the returns I've had!Great pulling power for bearing removalSaved money on parts using with an axle puller tool. So my books call this tool ALMOST free. Works well enough. Nothing gets a five star rating from me unless somebody provides the labour too ?! !!! Garage is one step closer to complete tools. Saved time and energy as well. One of those things you don't need that often but a must have for certain jobs.This is an imported set, but is better fit and finish than many other imported puller sets I have seen. It is not as well made as an OTC US made set, but is good enough for most home use, and much more affordable than the US made OTC sets. Your get what you pay for. I have only used it a few times, and each time the bearing or gear was not very hard to remove, so I can't say how it will hold up if I use it on something that is really stuck tight. I am satisfied with the quality for the price.Works good on the smaller bearings.
